You are probably right that this is not a
worthwhile area to expend any effort.

That said, I does anyone have any good examples
of J code which would be suitable for tail recursion?

(That is, a useful, recursive function, in J, where
we never need to retain state from multiple verb
contexts.  Factorial would be a function which is
both suitable for tail recursion and yet not a useful
example, because we have much better ways of
expressing factorial.)
