I suppose it is generally deprecated to rummage around under the covers in 
earnest (meaning for a production system or anything else
that needs a lot of trust). 

But in the case of SAJ, we actually leverage some tools provided for and 
heavily used by JMF, so to break those tools would be to
break JMF (which is often used in earnest).
