Those ("That is strange") were my thoughts, too.
I should have thought of the next step, too. The workbooks contain
customer information, so I can't share them, and they're rather big, so
it will be easier to build new, small ones than to sanitize these. I'll
have to do that next week.
It dawns on me belatedly (I found this near the end of the day) that
doing exactly that may teach me what the problem is as I seek to create
files that work and files that don't -- and that may possibly show me
the nature of the cure.
