I tried downloading the latest stable version of wget (1.11.4) from http://www.christopherlewis.com/WGet/WGetFiles.htm Used wget to download from the command prompt: C:\myfolder>wget http://www.jsoftware.com/zippy.gif C:\myfolder>wget -O - -q http://www.jsoftware.com/zippy.gif > zippystdout.gif C:\myfolder>dir *.gif ... 27/01/2010 12:38 43,143 zippy.gif 11/08/2010 12:47 43,316 zippystdout.gif ... Using J I confirmed that the difference is extra CRs. So a newer version of wget (J ships with 1.10.2) doesn't seem to solve the problem. What version of wget are you using? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For information about J forums see http://www.jsoftware.com/forums.htm
