To add a bit to this: I had written Cliff Reiter a while back when I encountered the same problem as Mr. Jeffries with Mac-Intel. Professor Reiter and his son Zach were kind enough to send me the source code for the shared library which is, not entirely, a wrapper around a variety of open-source image libraries. The existing code depends on releases of libraries like libpng and libjpeg that are circa 2002, and the code won't build on OSX very easily (and apparently also Windows) without an update. This suggests that the image3 library for all J platforms could use a refresh, and I earlier asked on Bjorn Helgason's Google Group whether there were folks that would like to help maintain this library. This, of course, with the yet-to-be-asked permission of the Reiters. If anyone is interested, I'm happy to be a point of communication, and hopefully could work on the OSX refresh. Anyone for Linux and Windows? Best wishes, Charles ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For information about J forums see http://www.jsoftware.com/forums.htm
