I used the stop-watch on my watch to time the lag between hitting enter and
the appearance of the fully-drawn graph; that's why I only give times to a
single digit.  Actually, the J6 estimate of about 0.5 s is more a measure of
how slowly I can end the timing than it is of how quickly the graph appears.

Also, when I do this

   6!:2 '''type surface'' plot +/~2 o. i:5j99'

in the J7 console, it keeps timing until I manually kill the plot window.
