Oh yes! I had been running 'regsvr32 j.dll' in the Run window. Just now, rereading your instructions, I have done it in the search window and right clicking on the cmd line it gave me the option to 'Run as administrator', which I grabbed eagerly. Then I got the old black screen, asking if I wished to proceed, which I had never got before. Yes, and the macro now runs! Thanks so much. What a hassle, but thank you so much. This is progress. I'm so glad not to have to reinstall Office!
