Hard to say ATM.
There is no diff between j602 vs j701 for Win32 so it doesn't look
like it is a J version issue, but there may be some interaction with
OS or 64-bit there.

I don't have Win64 so can't test that and haven't got a 32-bit Linux
install so can't test that either :(.  I'm pretty sure the version of
R and Rserve that installed on my 64-bit Linux machine was 64-bit so
it could just be the 64-bitness of the R or Rserve version.

Can anyone else help fill in the table of combinations? Otherwise it
will have to wait till I have time to organise tests on other
configurations.
