I built gtk linux64 binary from source and tested running on chromium,
this is a screenshot in jwiki,

so far gtkide appear to run, keyboard entry and mouse seem working. 
There are some issues, x11 specific opengl cannot run, it crashed 
un-gracefully on error. The file-chooser does not work. 

Not sure it is lightweight or not, it draws to canvas.
