IMO, this piece of code is getting more attention than it merits. It's a simple utility, written long ago, and mostly used interactively in the REPL while debugging or just exploring (i.e. in throwaway contexts).
If you want different behavior than nl et al provide, it's easy enough to write your own utility (no need to redefine the existing ones). -Dan -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of The Geeko Sent: Monday, September 26, 2011 5:47 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Jprogramming] New Project - New J User - Need Assist Raul Miller <rauldmiller <at> gmail.com> writes: > both seem to hit that line. For example: > names namelist_z_ 0 1 2 3 > Ok... but isn't that the same as list namelist_z_ 0 1 2 3? I appreciate having more than one path to solve a problem. But I am accustomed to more streamlined design/implementation. What am I missing? Besides the fact that I'm not ignoring the redundant duplicity? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For information about J forums see http://www.jsoftware.com/forums.htm ---------------------------------------------------------------------- For information about J forums see http://www.jsoftware.com/forums.htm
