Control-w is delete word (and words are delimited by spaces, for this
purpose).  If you have no spaces in your line, they would seem
equivalent.

It's probably something that can be configured in .inputrc or some such.

But I am using J on a lot of computers, so that is a lot of .inputrc
files I would have to set up (and test).
