I simply want to write some documentation for J users, and enable them to execute some common tasks in J. For simplicity I want to do it in J. So I am not really interested in adding another editor like emacs for a J user to learn.
Nor am I concerned about alternative operating systems, interesting though that material is. Under J602 the lab author module provided for wrapping of text input in sections of the lab. When the lab was run, it unpacked the wrapped text to a pre-determined default width. This greatly simplified modifying section text. Since we do not now have the lab author options, it would be very helpful to at least provide within the J7 system the basic editiing capability required. If it was added, a script window could also be used to edit Tex files. At present you have to go to another editor to do that.
