Thank you, Michael: the first procedure you suggested worked fine, so I can
now get J Http Server satisfactorily. Regarding my other question, I wonder
whether I downloaded J quite in the way you meant. I went to your link

https://github.com/mdykman/jconsole_for_android/blob/master/dist/j-console.a
pk

on my PC, downloaded the zip file 'mdykman-jconsole_for_android-fc0c958' by
clicking on 'download'. I was surprised to see a file named
'mdykman-jconsole_for_android-fc0c958' and not '.../j-console.apk', but I
ported it across to my phone using a USB connection, and unzipped it within
the phone. Then I clicked on the .apk file in the dist folder and all went
fine. All stuff from the unzipped file I have now deleted anyway, including
the .apk file, and everything still works fine. Should I have done the
download differently?

Regards

Graham
