After some searching for materials on learning category theory without
having significant background in pure mathematics, I found an interesting
comment <http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=3032233> about why you
shouldn't (and some good debate after).

If you want to continue anyway, I found this
wikibook<http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Haskell/Category_theory> to
be quite useful for myself for understanding how Haskell incorporates
category theory concepts (and good reading for anyone interested in similar
ideas in J). I think it's a bit too short but it gives a good quick
overview for anyone who wants to understand categories in math, Haskell, or
both.
