I cut and paste from Excel into J all the time - what doesn't work for you? See http://www.jsoftware.com/jwiki/NYCJUG/2012-05-08#Beginner.27sregatta for an example of the sort of thing I often do. The example shows c&p from a web page but it works just as well from Excel.
