Firstly you would join your old translations with the new CVS ones: $ msgcat ca-OLD.po ca-CVS.po > ca-TMP.po Secondly you would update the message references: $ msgmerge ca-TMP.po cds-invenio.pot > ca-NEW.po This would give you the new file. You would have to go manually through it in order to resolve potential translation conflicts (marked via ``#-#-#-#-#'' fuzzy translations). (Note that you could use ``--use-first'' option to msgcat if you are sure that the first translation file (ca-OLD) can be preferred to the other as far as the quality of translation goes. Also, if you have been working on a translation alone and you are sure that nobody else edited the translation as such in CVS, you could skip the first step altogether and do the msgmerge step with the ca-OLD file directly.) > potool (at least the Debian package) has a wrapper script that > produces statitics like Tibor's one on the Web[3] You can also run msgfmt: $ msgfmt --statistics ca.po 571 translated messages, 119 fuzzy translations, 19 untranslated messages. P.S. Thanks for your updated file, I have put it into CVS.
