If I remember correctly, the same is true for current Debian stable. I
updated the aptitude lines to get things from the Debian archives on the
Wiki only recently and they should be correct. (Cf. Install on Debian.)
One should even be able to just copy&paste it to a root-shell in a bare
Debian system to get all that's needed. I also adopted the necessary
steps for compilation to the wiki of the missing package. (BTW: Tibor
originally did this by using rpm in the first place, so one could just
stop there at the conversion to deb.)

One point where one might run into trouble however are external packages
that are actually fetched from web servers on the Net via make install
procedures. Tibor already ticketized that, however.
