With respect to Ubuntu the only package, if I recall correctly, that is not directly available is pyRXP. This is highly recommended (for performance reasons) but is not mandatory.
If I remember correctly, the same is true for current Debian stable. I updated the aptitude lines to get things from the Debian archives on the Wiki only recently and they should be correct. (Cf. Install on Debian.) One should even be able to just copy&paste it to a root-shell in a bare Debian system to get all that's needed. I also adopted the necessary steps for compilation to the wiki of the missing package. (BTW: Tibor originally did this by using rpm in the first place, so one could just stop there at the conversion to deb.) One point where one might run into trouble however are external packages that are actually fetched from web servers on the Net via make install procedures. Tibor already ticketized that, however. -- Kind regards, Alexander Wagner Subject Specialist Central Library 52425 Juelich mail : [email protected] phone: +49 2461 61-1586 Fax : +49 2461 61-6103 http://www.fz-juelich.de/zb/mitarbeiter/fachinformation#wagner ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Forschungszentrum Juelich GmbH 52425 Juelich Sitz der Gesellschaft: Juelich Eingetragen im Handelsregister des Amtsgerichts Dueren Nr.
