BibFormat engine by adding `verbose=9' to you URLs. You should see
then which template or piece of code is used to generate the output.
I followed those steps and found that Invenio was thinking that the
wrong format was actually a pre-stored one. I've no conclusion how it
came to that impression, but that also explains why reformatting the
formats in question fixed it: it was just overwritten with correct
values. I admit that at the current point I do not understand why/how
that happend. As we do the install via script I tried again with a
completely empty installation and it didn't reproduce there. So either
we screwed something in a pretty nasty way in the first place or its one
of those very nasty issues which are hardly reproducable.
I'll watch out if this reappears. I go over our installation steps from
time to time on a virtual testing box.
Note that the unexpected output is probably generated by a template
in WebSearch, on which BibFormat falls back when an exception occurs
and prevents the regular formatting to take place. In these cases the
exception is registered and should be reported to you by email (and
printed to invenio.err, grep for 'formatting record').
No errors were thrown.
