Sorry for being late, but we actually had the same issue some time ago.
Tibor might remember that we have some funny collections called "P" or
"I" which interfered destructively with PERI or INST collections, till
he told us of the quotes here as well.
@Tibor, it might be helpful to note in the docs that the "collection
query" can actually be /any/ valid invenio query. My stumbling stone
back then was, that I didn't notice that "collection:" is just nothing
more than searching a logical field (index) instead of a marc tag. Back
then I had the notion that the "collection:-thing" involves some magic I
did not yet understand.
Actually, it resulted at our site in a bunch of doctype collections
built on 980 which we would have derived in a cleaner way by not using
collection: but 3367_0 (document type id) or our typ: index... Nothing
critical but a redundancy one (should) probably avoid at our side.
