Position: DW/BI Architect with BI Presales, BI/Analytic Consulting experience

Duration: Long term
Location - Open
The key attributes to look at:-
Communication
Cognitive skills and intelligence
Humility, flexibility, and team playing (very important)
Willingness to travel extensively across US and Americas
Prowness with Powerpoint (ask for a sample presentation - he has made on a
given on topic of BI)
Can mould himself to do anything else, if asked to do - i.e. not rigid (this is
because he may have to help in hunting if required)
Understands DW concepts AT A HIGH LEVEL ( What is what? Modeling? ASM? Project
mgmt.? )
Has hands on exposure to ETL and Reporting
We can be a bit relaxed, if he is street smart but does not understands nitty
gritties, but then can lead an engagement with a support
The basic role description to be published
· 5 to 12 years of BI, data warehousing, analytics experience
· Experience in BI Presales, BI/Analytic Consulting, BI Strategy, and
BI Execution
· Hands on exposure to one or more BI/Analytics/ETL/OLAP/MDM tools from
Oracle, IBM, Microsoft, SAS, Microstrategy
· Hands on execution of data warehouse in the capacity of
business/technical role, data integration, or reporting expert
· Good understanding of data warehouse fundamentals - Dimensional
modeling, ETL, and Reporting stacks (predictive modeling knowledge will be a
plus, but not mandatory)
· Domain knowledge (good to have, not necessary) - Financials, Banking,
Travel & Transportation, Manufacturing
· Understanding of analytic stacks ( good to have, not necessary) -
Peoplesoft EPM , Oracle OBIEE, Cognos EPM
· Exposure of having worked with offshore teams (required)
The job will entail
· Customer presentations / Evangelizing BI/ Prospecting/Solution
Architecting
· Travel ( daily) , once in a while 4 - 6 weeks engagement (limited to
maximum 3 or 4 times a year)
· Consulting engagement - kickstart, and lead and drive (if required,
also own) short bursts of BI engagement
· Location - Chicago/Dallas/ San Francisco/Atlanta/New Jersey (New
Jersey/Atlanta - acceptable, not preferred)
