*Job Description:* *Position: Technical Data/Business Analyst (Catastrophe/RMS)* *Location: Philadelphia, PA* *Duration: 6 – 12 months contract* *Start Date:* ASAP *Client Domain: *Insurance sector (P&C, Catastrophe/RMS/AIR) *Catastrophe/RMS experience is must* *Responsibility for this role:* Maintain a historical database of the company’s policy data. Design business rules surrounding the database – write specifications for data loading and for reporting, develop standard procedure guidelines, and provide user training. Work with others in the group to make the data available for their use as well. Write ETL procedures using Access VBA applications, DTS procedures, and SSIS packages to load policy data from the production database system. Design queries and reports (SSRS) to generate management-level reports describing the company’s performance in measures such as in-force policy counts over time, renewal retention, binder to quotes ratio, earned premium, and loss ratios. Develop rates for products, based on model catastrophe losses, industry loss data, and our company’s performance; adjusted by comparison with major competitor’s rates for similar products in the same market area. Work on standard actuarial procedures and on non-admitted product lines. Develop guidelines for rater development program, including on-level rater tool. Performance in generating new rates, being able to develop more than one rater change per month, using the tools and templates. Run predictive models (RMS, AIR) to estimate catastrophe losses as part of the rating process. Maintained the SQL Server databases used by these models as your group’s system administrator. Also work to validate new versions of these programs - what changes in the model affected your picture of your book’s losses and how you should plan to incorporate the new model’s results in your rating analysis. Help to develop predictive models of your losses such as fire, theft, water damage, and liability types of claims using SAS and VBA programming. Your work involve using the procSQL section of SAS to extract data from outside sources and to do table manipulation within the SAS environment. Write database application that monitored this process, pulling updated policy information from Citizens’ on a weekly basis and producing information used by the production team to generate renewal offers for these policies when they were due. Used Visual Basic .Net, FTP processing, SQL querying. You should be familiar with coding that how different technologies could be applied to advance this catastrophic management project. You will be involved in current and future workflow analysis and definition, some use case analysis, new screen design and mockups, and should be technically proficient.
