I wrote in a follow-up that in this case it was a configuration issue
where the IP was not properly registered in the physical card.
I suggest we wait for the issue to happen again (if ever).

(to detect the problem: well I just noticed a timeout when SSHing
remotely :))

I'm still interested in rebooting the box though.
