You're not going to find an open source license that prohibits derivations or commercial use. They're two important parts (3 and 6) of the Open Source Definition: http://opensource.org/docs/definition.php The best way to prevent useless forks is to run an inclusive project. The book Producing Open Source Software has a lot of good advice on how to keep a project running smoothly and make forks rare and meaningful: http://producingoss.com/ All I can say with regards to a commercial prohibition is that you'll cut off usefull resources and the sly people you're concerned about won't honor it anyways. Best of luck with your project, I hope you find a license that suits your needs. - -- Peter Harkins - http://push.cx -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.1 (GNU/Linux) Comment: If you don't know what this is, it's OK to ignore it. iD8DBQFEU8NGa6PWv6+ALKoRAuc7AJ0eRELsgPHZNbEPG0GVhpL29vaszACdF7z+ pSz4uy3q650wyxz6k/ANMnI= =pwU6 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ Project_owners mailing list [email protected] http://mozdev.org/mailman/listinfo/project_owners
