It's a simple matter for mailing lists to be disabled by default for all new
projects. I really think we should have them off/deleted by default and only
create them when requested.

Hello David, I was wondering exactly what I need to do to withdraw my
extension project from mozdev.org

I realize you guys have very little if any control over spam, but it
quite annoying to find my mailbox littered by

spammers.

Unfortunately anybody that might want to contribute to my project or
even others is looking at facing the same thing.

I wonder if the spam problem has any correlation to the abandoned
projects issue you guys are looking at.

I can see where some people would become very frustrated and simply
stop using mozdev.

I'm afraid to even mention my project to anyone because I know once
they sign-up they are going to get the spam as a result.

With all that being said...I would be more than happy to contribute to
any efforts to control spam on mozdev.

If we determine the reporter has filed more / similar bugs, we should
consider revoking their account. I am not sure if there is a
precedent for this.

I can't remember revoking anyone's bugzilla privileges, but if there is
spam (which in this case it looks like it might not be) I don't see any
problem with me sending the person an email and asking them to stop and
then revoking their access if they do it again.
