Eric, is the features you speak of currently in place or is this something that can be done.

Additional note: I was under the impression that my project would be listed in the projects list once I notified mozdev I was ready. For some reason, my project appeared there before I
made any requests for it to be listed. (Not complaining-just relating the facts)

It's just really hard to get everything set-up when you are new to Mozdev and you suddenly find yourself sorting through spam for information.

Your idea of disabling the mailing list until new project owners are better established would be great.

It's a simple matter for mailing lists to be disabled by default for all new projects. I really think we should have them off/deleted by default and only create them when requested.

Subject: Re: [Project_owners] Weird bug report is spam?

Hello David, I was wondering exactly what I need to do to withdraw my extension project from mozdev.org
I realize you guys have very little if any control over spam, but it quite annoying to find my mailbox littered by
spammers.

Unfortunately anybody that might want to contribute to my project or even others is looking at facing the same thing.
I wonder if the spam problem has any correlation to the abandoned projects issue you guys are looking at.
I can see where some people would become very frustrated and simply stop using mozdev.

I'm afraid to even mention my project to anyone because I know once they sign-up they are going to get the spam as a result.

With all that being said...I would be more than happy to contribute to any efforts to control spam on mozdev.
