Brothers Ahmed and Jihad Zuwaiyin shared a house with their families in Mussayib, a predominantly Shiite town 60 kilometres north of Baghdad, in an area formerly known as the triangle of death because of its mixed Shiite and Sunni communities and frequent sectarian violence. The insurgents struck at four in the morning, placing several IEDs around the house before detonating them. The blast destroyed the house killing everyone inside including six children aged under 10. Six neighbouring houses were damaged and four people were injured. The horrific bombing appears be the work of insurgents intent on widening the growing sectarian divisions in the country.
