The protesters occupied the airport on Wednesday and vandalized guardrails and lights on the airport’s runway. “This airport is a public facility, they should not vandalize its property,” airport master Abdullah Musa said on Thursday as quoted by Antara news agency. Abdullah said some planes that were about to land in the airport had to be diverted to the Sam Ratulangi Airport in Manado, North Sulawesi.
