Ada memang yang disebut pensiun rakyat (folk pension). Pensiun ini  diberikan 
kepada siapa saja yang mempunyai izin tinggal, pernah kerja atau tidak pernah 
kerja selama berada di Swedia. Jadi sebahagian dari pencari suaka yang lincah, 
setelah mereka diterima menjadi penduduk,  mereka memanggil orang tua mereka 
untuk hidup bersama. Orang tua ini kalau sudah diatas umur 68 diberikan pensiun 
rakyat,  kalau tak salah kurang lebih 600,— euro per orang,  jadi kalau ibu dan 
bapak berarti  mereka menerima pensiun 1.200 euro. Apartmen  yang diberikan 
kepada penerima suka juga rumah standar seperti yang dimiliki oleh oleh warga 
Swedia. Jadi saya kira terjaminlah hidup.

Seperti pernah saya tulis. Negara-negara kaya Arab tersebut hanya memberikan 
fasilitas bagi warganegaranya sendiri saja. Jadi warganegara mereka hanya 
dimungkinkan lewat adanya perkawinan. Itu sebabnya sang pribumi Arab banyak 
yang jadi malas karena dapat banyak fasilitas dan masih banyak buruh migran 
yang mau datang untuk melakukan segala macam pekerjaan. 

Jadi ingat saat dulu di Reading, Berkshire, England, pertengahan tahun 1980-an. 
Ada orang Arab yang selama seminggu kagak pernah nongol di tempat pelatihan DEC 
terbesar Eropa saat itu. Dia cuma nongol di hari terakhir untuk ambil 
sertifikat saja. Hidupnya memang terlihat nyaman dan pakaiannya demikian mewah 
saat itu.

Disamping itu Australia memberikan peluang yang sama bagi pria dan wanita yang 
mana tidak berlaku di negara-negara Arab.
Kalau dalam masalah fasilitas bagi warga, kemungkinan lebih baik di 
negara-negara Arab kaya tersebut. Teman saya yang bekerja di Qatar tidak kena 
pajak disamping juga pendapatan tambahan lewat main sahamnya juga tidak kena 
pajak. Sebaliknya pajak di Australia sanagt tinggi, lebih tinggi dari AS, tapi 
juga dapat pelayanan kesehatan yang lebih baik. 

Saya yakin Swedia memberikan fasilitas yang lebih baik bagi warganya ketimbang 
Australia karena sampai-sampai ada usulan usia pensiunnya jadi 75 tahun dengan 
menciutnya dana yang tersedia.
