Tangerang Police are nowhere with recent robbery investigations Multa Fidrus, The Jakarta Post, Tangerang | Sat, 04/14/2012 7:59 PM Tangerang Metro police chief Sr. Comr. Wahyu Widada confirmed that they would need more time to investigate the three latest robberies that took place in the region. He said the police had been investigating the cases, but saw no light at the end of the tunnel. “We have gone all out in investigating these cases, but apparently we still need some time to be able to apprehend the perpetrators,” he said on Saturday. He said he had coordinated the investigations with several other regional police offices in order to maximize the search. The latest three robberies occurred within a one month period in Tangerang, which began with the robbery of a Bank Central Asia customer, named Sebastian Libertus, on March 3. Libertus had been robbed while fixing a flat tire on his way home after withdrawing Rp 315million from his account. The second robbery took place at the Tangerang Administrative Center building on March 5 where the robbers had taken Rp 336 million directly from a safe located in one of the rooms. The last robbery occurred on April 4, where this time robbers targeted a sailor’s house and managed to flee with an APV Suzuki minivan, gold jewelry worth Rp 20 million, one million in cash, a motorcycle and a LCD TV for total loses of around Rp 180 million. WR Supratman in Ciputat, South Tangerang, on Thursday at about 2 a.m. Muhammad Ma’mun, 31, an employee of the mini-market, which opened 24 hours a day, told police that the robbers suddenly entered the shop, tribunnews.com reported. “Don’t make any noise, or I will kill you,” one of the men said, who was also armed with a machete, as quoted by Ma’mun. They then tied up the other two employees, and ordered Ma’mun to open the safety box, where he kept the money. The robbers made off with Rp 11 million in cash.
