NU itu moderat?
Ni contoh "moderatnya" NU satu lagi, partai yang membunuhi puluhan
ribu (atau ratusan ribu) pendukung Orde Demokrasi Terpimpin tahun
1965-1966 satu lagi.
Masih ada yang punya ilusi bahwa Islam itu bisa moderat?
Saya ulang:
beda Islam moderat dan Islam fundementalis itu sungguh tipis nian dan
sungguh tidak ada jaminan bahwa orang Islam yang pasang wajah moderat
hari ini tidak akan menjadi bengis dan biadab besok atau lusa.
Masaalahnya, saya ulang: di al-Mushah dan hadits itu segala ada:
perintah untuk berbuat kejam lagi keji ada dan perintah untuk bersikap
manusiawi juga ada.
Siapa saja bisa memakai ayat-ayat atau contih kelakuan nabi yang
disukainya menurut kebutuhan sesaat.
Hari ini pasang wajah moderat.
Besok unjuk wajah bengis.

NU, LDII agree to fight 'misleading' sects
KEDIRI, East Java (Antara): The country's largest Muslim organization,
Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), and the Indonesian Islamic Propagation Institute
(LDII) have agreed to fight 'misleading' sects in Indonesia.
"We must fight against the misleading sects as they only create
conflicts among Muslims," NU's associate chairman, KH Said Aqiel
Siradj, said at a post-Ramadhan gathering at LDII's boarding school on
Sunday.
He pointed to what he called Qidayah Islamiyah's misleading teachings,
which recognize the emergence of a prophet after Prophet Mohammad and
allow Muslims not to pray, go on the haj or fast.
"If it is only differences in opinion like those on the dates of Idul
Fitri, it doesn't matter. But if it deals with a question on the
prophet, it concerns sharia, a matter of Islamic law," he said.
LDII chairman KH Abdullah Syam agreed.
"The government and MUI (the Indonesian Ulema Council) must take stern
measures against Qiyadah Islamiyah," he said.
Siradj and Syam agreed that the government must eliminate misleading
teachings through a 'persuasive' approach. (***)
