Jalan pikiran penguasa NKRI hutan perlu dibabat, sebab bisa diperoleh sumbangan
untuk reboasasi, jadi dua kali lipat laba. Rejeki nomplooooooooong!!!

Forest conservation needs to be maintained

Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Forests are one of the world`s major carbon storages,
for which forest conservation is much needed to prevent deforestation and
climate change.
"We are making sure that the communities who live in the forests still feel the
benefits of the program," Marco Lambertini, chief executive of birdlife
international, said in Jakarta Thursday.
Birdlife International is the biggest partnership organization of national
nature conservation. Singapore`s nature society was the Birdlife`s partner.
Narci said to preserve the forests, Birdlife International has employed more
than 200 local staff personnel particularly highly skilled forest patrol
officers.
He said because of that in the last three years, the program has produced
results.
"In this context, Singapore Airlines (SIA) has donated 3 million dollars to big
scale of long term environment projects and the sustainability of global
environment." said Bay Soo Khiang, SIA Senior Executive Vice President for
Marketing and Corporate Service.
He said that the donation from SIA will be used for supporting the "Prakarsa
Harapan Rainforest" project under a cooperation between the international NGOs
including Birdlife International and Birdlife Indonesia.
The SIA contribution for protection and forest restoration in lowland tropical
forests in Indonesia was a reflection of a conviction that the environment
preservation effort has to be focused to make real differences and concrete
result for the welfare of the Indonesian people.
According to him, the representatives of Singapore Airlines, Birdlife
International and KEHI foundation had reached agreement to implement the
programs.
KEHI foundation is an Indonesian non-profit organization appointed by the
Birdlife Consortium to manage implementation of the the program. (*)
