Three killed in ethnic clashes in Tarakan: Police The Jakarta Post, Jakarta | Wed, 09/29/2010 11:54 AM | Archipelago At least three people have been killed in violent clashes between two ethnic groups in Tarakan, East Kalimantan, which erupted on Sunday night. One of the victims, who was killed on Sunday, was identified as Abdullah, National Police deputy spokesman Brig. Gen. Untung Ketut Yoga said in Jakarta on Wednesday. "A new clash took place last night when two more people were killed, raising the death toll from the conflict to three," Yoga said as quoted by kompas.com. Six houses were damaged during the clash on Tuesday night and eight people were injured, he said. "Two of the damaged houses belong to local residents named Noerdin and Sarifudin, while the other four belong to H. Sani," Yoga explained.
