(ANTARA News) London (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian embassy in Brussels and Belgian retail company Colruyt have agreed to help develop the education sector in the two countries. Indonesian Ambassador to Belgium Arif Havas Oegroseno reached the agreement at a meeting with Sylvie Reyntens and Sarah Gerard representing Colrupt in Brussels recently, Royhan N. Wahab, the embassy`s third secretary for educational, social and cultural affairs, said in an e-mailed statement on Sunday. Sylvie Reyntens and Sarah Gerard said the company has provided educational assistance to educational institutions in Indonesia as part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR), the statement said. Ambassador Oegroseno hailed the Colruyt program as complement to the Indonesian education program. He said the Indonesian government has adopted a scholarship scheme called Dhamasiswa that allows foreign students to study more about Indonesia at a number of institutes of higher learning in the country. Belgium is one of the countries which routinely sends any of its citizens to take part in the Dharmasiswa program, he said. He expressed hope that more and more foreign students will benefit from the program. Therefore, Colruyt can play a more active role in the program by taking advantage of their networking in Belgium. The Colruyt representatives said the Dharmasiswa program is interesting and pledged to send more Belgian students to take part in the program. Likewise, the company also offered scholarships to Indonesian students to pursue higher education in Belgium.
