Bagaimana saat ia berhubungan dengan perasaan? Bagi sebagian, musik terkait dgn kesan dan selera yg bisa cenderung subjektif. Sehingga muncul perasaan tenang, semangat, sedih, bahkan terganggu saat mendengar musik. Aspek yg terkait dgn soal rasa dan kesan ini yg selanjutnya disebut Afektif. Sementara mereka yg lebih berminat terhadap proses terjadinya nada hingga lagu, skala apresiasi dan interpretasi karya, bahkan melakukan semacam proses "analisa" untuk "membedah" sebuah komposisi, bisa disebut pendekatan tehnis yg lebih terukur dan disebut Kesan Parametris.
