The Hajj pilgrimage is meant to be performed at least once in a Muslim's lifetime, provided he or she has the financial means. Differences minimised by a pilgrimage revolving around the same dress-code, same rituals, same devotion to the same faith. All are equal before God. But as Al Jazeera's Imran Garda reports from Mecca, for those without the means the trip can be a testing experience.
