Hi, I'm a semi-technical community founder (http://ahsugarmaples.com). We currently use Slack to converse online. But I want to find a less expensive, open-source alternative. I'm way over my head with XMPP. And I really need to talk with someone – preferably via videochat – to get a sense of what the tradeoffs would be in setting up an XMPP server and having our community pick their own clients.
