Yes, you should use planes. I have found no bug here.
A possibility, have a look under, 'Design', 'Layer Stack Manager'.
Check that you have assigned your nets to the planes correctly.

Dear all,
I used a couple of planes in my current 6 layers HDI board, ground plane and
power plane, I set the plane connect style to direct connect and split the
power plane to 2 patrs. During layout, It looks all fine. Run DRC, no error
found. Then I created the gerber file and NC drill file. when I check the
gerber files, I found all the via connect to the corresponding plane has
the same clearence as other via, It's to say NO via connect to the plane.
Should I use plane in my design?
What I had missed?
Is it a bug? (Big bug) (Protel99 SE SP6, Win2000)
Till now, I feel so painful. I had received a stack of trash from my vendor
yesterday.
