I was going to pass this up, but then I had second thoughts. This post
should never have been sent to this list, it is completely out of place
here, just as out of place as it would be if I started discussing the last
election or my religion as anything other than an aside, and even then it
might be provocative, which is not what we are about here.

The post is gratuitously offensive in this context. I might argue that it
is gratuitously offensive in every context, *but that argument would be out
of place here.* Believe me, I'd have a lot to say.

This is an international list and many of those writing or reading the list
have English as a second or third language. They do much better than I
would do in their language. These people are not trying to "become part of
our society," and, while I think that the U.S. is one of the better places
in the world to live, if you can afford it, it is not necessarily the best,
and especially it is not best from every point of view. In fact, the
software which we are all using is from Australia, which, I hear, is a
rather nice place.

Because people from these other places are here, participating on this
list, I realized that this post might cause some of them to feel unwelcome,
and that would be a shame. We are not here to discuss politics, or
religion, or baseball, for that matter. We are here to provide mutual
support in the use of Protel software; going much outside that is clearly
off-base, besides being against the stated rules of the list.

There is an Open Topic Forum, to which some of us subscribe, for other
discussions, and if anyone wishes to discuss the subject post -- which I do
*not* recommend, I think we all have better things to do, particularly now
-- the discussion should be moved there.

Note that I am not blaming Mr. Cox, he may have been unaware that he was
sending the mail here, or he might have a virus or his computer may have
been hacked, i.e., he may not even be the author (forwarder) of the post.
