What you are trying to do is about the way we currently are working here. To have a halfway proper setup you should choose the database storage system. With this system you can setup workgroups with individual logins for each member and then are able to (manually) lock (write protect) the files you are working with. We have a central "library.ddb" database where all common libs are stored. Individual components can be defined in librarys within each "design.ddb". We are running NT4 latest SP, maybe that with W95/W98/ME such problems can rise up. I'm sure there's another group member with more experience in this context.
