Yea Ive had noticed that about a year ago and might have reported it, It happens if when turn off all of the signal/plane layers. I just figured if I never use it that mode it never crashes. Also if you turn off of all the clearance rules it will cause a crash. There are a few other weird modes Protel crashes in but they aren't anything that prevents the job from being completed.
