not exactly. Acrobat (the full version) can do this, by calling its distiller and generating a PDF on the fly, while the Adobe Reader (former Acrobat Reader) isn't able to do this job. Nevertheless i agree with Karl in using GSview/Ghostscript for viewing/converting PostScript-Files.
