The original bug described here is very much due to a Visual C++ compiler bug.
Your bug sounds like a name clash introduced by some specific headers on your OS. It sounds like the STL/netinet clash has been dogging people for a decade: http://lists.kde.org/?l=kde-solaris&m=102448062530634&w=2
