But transparency usually hits hard, yeah, especially on Linux desktops with legacy video drivers (people with hardware older than a couple of years). But this is not the right list to talk about this. It's better to raise usage questions in the rails-spinoffs list. But you can post here if you have an actual idea how to speed up some code in Prototype, we're always on a lookout for better solutions.
