Hi John,

your problem is as you say normal, because both effects take place at
the same time.
The Queue add does not resolve it because you miss the way to write

new Effect.Appear('pkgSearchFormLoading', {  { queue: 'end' }  });
should be write:

new Effect.Appear('pkgSearchFormLoading', {    queue: 'end'    }); or
new Effect.Appear('pkgSearchFormLoading', {  queue:
{ position:'end' }  });
