Good news, I solved the problem. The server side must set these
headers (PHP):
header('Access-Control-Allow-Origin: *');
header('Access-Control-Allow-Methods: POST, OPTIONS');
header('Access-Control-Allow-Headers: x-prototype-version,x-requested-
with');
Works on all Access-Control capable browsers (Firefox, Chrome &
Safari).
