Hi,

Yeah, you can totally do this server-side, the SOP restriction doesn't
apply server-side. So you could easily do this with PHP (using fopen
or curl or similar) and Prototype (no need to introduce jQuery into
the equation).

If you _want_ to introduce jQuery into the equation, you readily can:
Just use jQuery's noConflict mode.[1] But again, no need for that just
to use PHP on the server.
