Hi PSAS,

We're teaching a Git workshop the Sunday after finals *(Dec. 10) at 1 pm in
the rocket room*. If you're in one of the capstones this year, please try
to attend. (If you can't make it in person, we'll be broadcasting it on the
hangout. <http://psas.pdx.edu/hangout>) The last workshop lasted 140
minutes.

*Bring your laptop* if you have one. We'll be showing many examples, and it
helps to follow along.

Please try to *install Git* before the workshop: Windows
<https://git-scm.com/download/win>, Mac <https://git-scm.com/download/mac>,
Linux <https://git-scm.com/download/linux>. (Windows/Mac users, just use
the default options that the wizard gives you.) While you're at it, install
something <https://notepad-plus-plus.org/> better
<https://wiki.gnome.org/Apps/Gedit#Download> than <https://atom.io/> notepad
<http://www.sublimetext.com/>, if you haven't already.

Also, *make a Github account* <https://github.com/join?source=header-home>.
Then, send me an email with your Github username (or a link to your
profile), asking to be added to the OreSat group <https://github.com/oresat>
.

If you didn't already know, Git and Github are what we use to coordinate,
develop, store, and share our work. This workshop will cover the basics
like clone, pull, push, merge, and Github issues. We'll definitely touch on
how to deal with non-diff-able files like SolidWorks parts. If there's
time, we'll explain a bit about branches.
