     I'm having trouble building psppire again. Configure is telling me

     ./configure: line 5674: syntax error near unexpected token `PACKAGE,'
     ./configure: line 5674: `PKG_CHECK_MODULES(PACKAGE, gtk+-2.0 >= 2.6.0)'

     The relevant lines in configure are:

        PKG_CHECK_MODULES(PACKAGE, gtk+-2.0 >= 2.6.0)
        PKG_CHECK_MODULES(GLADE, libglade-2.0)

     I'm not sure where to look to get this to work.

These lines shouldn't be in configure ; what versions of
auto{conf,make} do you have?
