I scrounged a windows machine today and installed your latest build and can confirm that I too see this problem.
I am at a loss to know what the cause is. Especially considering:
1. The icons appear in the menus. It is only in the toolbar they
are missing.
2. The toolbar icons DO appear if you "tear off" the toolbar in its
GtkHandle - it is only when the toolbar is sitting in its normal
place that they are missing.
In view of this, I can only suggest that this is some Gtk bug on
windows.
