Title: RE: Kernel Compiles

I recompile for many reasons. One such is getting functionality from the latest iptables release.

I haven't noticed past kernels being so sensitive to 'make mrproper' during the *first* compile one does from the sources. My 7.3 kernels compile just fine the first time I do them -- even though I don't mrproper.

Thanks

Why do you need to recompile the kernel?  Red Hat Linux comes with
tested binary kernels, ya know.
